Martha and I had a great weekend in Toronto. We saw "We Will Rock You" (Queen music) at the Canon Theatre on Friday night. On Saturday, we went to the Blue Jays/Rockies game (Toronto won). After the game, we went to the CN Tower and had lunch in the cafe, over 1000 ft off the ground. The views were incredible. Then we walked further south to the Harbourfront Centre area, did a wine tasting at the wine store on the corner, visited the Power Plant to see the contemporary art exhibit, perused the Franco-Fête festival, and then headed back to Union Station. Before we hopped the subway, we headed upstairs to check out the Fairmont Royal York hotel. We just passed through the lobby, but it looked like a pretty nice place. We found our way back to the subway, and exited at Dundas to have dinner at Baton Rouge Eaton Centre. After dinner, we hopped the subway back up to Bloor-Yonge, where we exited again to find a little shop on Church Street that Martha wanted to visit. Surprisingly, we found ourselves in the middle of what appeared to be the PRIDE kickoff street party. It was quite interesting to say the least. Overall, we really liked Toronto and look forward to visiting again. |
